What is FlyDroneMap

FlyDroneMap is a free, no-signup dashboard for drone pilots. Search any location to see live wind speed, wind gusts, visibility, and the latest planetary Kp index, plus — for US locations — the FAA's public UAS Facility Map altitude ceiling.

Why We Built It

Checking flight conditions usually means piecing together several different apps and government sites. FlyDroneMap brings the numbers that actually matter for a go/no-go decision — wind, gusts, visibility, and geomagnetic activity — into one place, in your language.

Not a Substitute for Official Authorization

FlyDroneMap is a planning reference, not a flight authorization tool. Always confirm your flight through LAANC or FAADroneZone (in the US) or your local aviation authority before flying.

Where the data comes from

Weather data — wind, gusts, visibility and temperature — comes from Open-Meteo. The planetary Kp index comes from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).

Airspace layers come from official public services: the FAA UAS Facility Map and airspace data for the United States, VWorld for South Korea, ENAIRE's UAS geographical zones for Spain, and DIPUL for Germany. For Japan we currently link to the official MLIT pages only.

Accuracy, updates and corrections

Regulation summaries are short, plain-language references, not legal advice, and each country page links to the official authority. Rules change, so always confirm with the authority before you fly.

Every guide shows its publication date, and we aim to revise a guide when the rules or data it is based on change. If you spot an error or an outdated rule, email us and we will check it against the official source.
